Durgotsab, GK-IIBhog prasad is traditionally made of desi ghee. But this year, the main attraction of this Durga Puja pandal, which daily attracts 3000 visitors, is that its bhog prasad
is being prepared with organic ingredients and olive oil. Also, they
are celebrating 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, India’s
first Nobel laureate, so the pandal has been dedicated to him. Special collection of his poems, songs, paintings, have been put on display.

Kashmire Gate Pandal
The oldest Durga Puja in the city, the Kashmere Gate pandal is celebrating its 101st year. The celebrations here are done in a traditional manner with no superficial glitz. No surprises then that not much has changed over the years. The food, especially the kebabs, served at the food stalls are a must try here.

Durga Puja pandal, CR Park
One of the most visited pandals in the Bengali-dominated Chittaranjan Park, it’s structure has been made to resemble Kuthi Badi, which was Rabindranath Tagore’s native home. They are also commemorating 100 years of Tagore’s Nobel Prize winning work, Gitanjali.

This pandal is known for its innovative themes. This year it’s Commonwealth Games. The pandal is shaped like Jawaharlal Nehru stadium with the entrance looking like a king’s crown.

Safdarjang Enclave
Last year it was Egyptian history that was reflected in the pandals. This year they have chosen the good old Bengali splendour.
